James
M. Bell graduated from the University of California at Berkeley in
1959, where he majored in business administration. He obtained his
law degree from the University of California at Berkeley, Boalt
Hall, in 1966.
Jim, rated AV, is a business lawyer with a tax
specialization.
He began his practice in Fresno in 1966 where
he quickly became a partner in the prestigious law firm of
Crossland, Crossland, Caswell and Bell. Tom Caswell and Jim formed a
new firm in February, 1980, which is now known as Caswell Bell &
Hillison LLP.
Jim has been extremely active in the bar and
community, serving as President of the Fresno County Bar Association
in 1975 and President of the Board of Trustees of Valley Children's
Hospital in 1978.
He served in the United States Air Force as
an officer from 1959 to 1963. He is an accomplished pilot, having
obtained his private pilot's license in 1973. He is licensed to fly
single-engine and multi-engine land aircraft and is instrument
rated.
He has owned a number of aircraft and is presently the
co-owner of a Beechcraft B36TC aircraft. In 1992, Jim and his wife
flew a Cessna 421C around the world, and in 1987, they flew a Cessna
210 single-engine aircraft from Paris, France to Beijing, China and
back.
Jim has traveled extensively, having visited many
countries and places, including: France, England, Germany, Spain,
Egypt, Saudi Arabia, India, Bangladesh, China, Hong Kong,
Phillippines, Singapore, Jordan, Russia, Canada, Mexico, Uruguay,
Argentina and Brazil. |
